Villa Balbiano, a Historical Wedding Venue on Lake Como

Villa Balbiano was built in the 16th century by Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio. The cardinal was a powerful and influential figure in the Catholic Church, and primarily used the villa as a summer retreat. Later owned by several other wealthy families, Villa Balbiano was eventually abandoned in the 20th century before being purchased again in the 1980s, by the Ruspoli family. A noble Italian family, the Rupsoli family splendidly restored the villa to its former glory, making it a highly exclusive and must-see destination.

A private dinner in the front gardens, a first dance in a bespoke marquee, and a cocktail reception in the main hall. Villa Balbiano can comfortably accommodate up to 200 guests. From intimate receptions to epic festivities, the Italian palazzo is host to a wide array of spaces and locations and offers a variety of venues which can be transformed to create your perfect wedding venue.

Villa Balbiano’s rental fees start at €40,000+ for a weekday. Weekend dates only come as 3-days and start at €110,000+. The Villa has a glass house already in place which is an additional fee €40,000 per day should you wish to use it.

Located in the town of Ossuccio-Lenno, 20 km north of Como, your guests will be able to fly either to Milan Malpensa or Milan Linate airports, both an hour’s drive away. For private jets, Lugano airport in Switzerland is approximately 45 minutes away.
